A brief history !
The
cinema in countryside has several origins. It firstly ensured
information release at a time where television did not exist, to meet
other town inhabitants, and obviously to watch films.
In 1984, cinema in Jallais evolved: films are printed in 35mm on several reels. That made possible to screen films for consumers, but the reels swap led to a 10 minutes break during the show.
In 1988, the ASPA (Union Association For Animation) who was in charge of the cinema at this time, bought a tape-drive that removed this break. A real countryside cinema was born.
In 2004 following the end of ASPA, a group of volunteers created the JALLAS Ô CINE association then cinema was able to still exist inside the town and enforced a local identity.
